Hey You Lot,
How is everyone doing? Enjoying the holidays? I hope so, I know I sure did. They were just over way too quick. I'm defintiely not ready to be back at work yet. So to everyone still on holidays, lucky you! For everyone else, trust me you are not alone.
This year has been an amazing year for music. There have been some absolute bangers released...and I think, it's time we celebrate that.
One of the biggest summer smashes this year came from a little lady by the name of Katy B.
Her debut single Katy on a Mission, a collaboration with Dubstep DJ/Producer Benga, garnered huge praise from both listeners and critics alike. This track along with songs like I Need Air by Magentic Man, were responsible bringing dubstep to the mainstream, giving listeners who wouldn't normally have found out about this genre, something to think about.
Katy on a Mission hit number five on the UK singles chart after its release which is an incredible feat for a dubstep tune. The song also hit number one on the UK Dance and Indie charts.
This song is a mash up of two genres, dubstep and pop music, I guess you could almost call it pop step.
Look out for Katy B's debut record in the new year, it promises to be amazing.
Enjoy!

Holiday Roller!
Hey All,
So it's almost Christmas! Got your shopping done? If not, then my prayers be with you...also, try not to kill anybody.
So how is everyone?! It's been a good week, no work, and thankfully it hasn't been too cold. It works for me.
Alright, so today I've got a winter roller of a track for you. Time for some super classy house music, courtesy of Dennis Ferrer.
Dennis Ferrer is a New York based DJ, and founder of the Objektivity record label; which is also home to artists like The Martinez Brothers, Karizma (DJ), and Filsonik.
The follow up to his Grammy nominated single, Hey Hey, is called Red Room.
Time to chill out.
Enjoy!

Another day...another song!
Hey All,
It's Tuesday...Tuesday...You know, no matter how many times you say it, it still isn't Friday, in fact it seems far from. Oh well.
So how is everyone? Things are good here! Over the weekend BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra had a dubstep take over; they had a bunch of the DJs from both stations present shows about the biggest dubstep of 2010, to the history of dubstep, to the direction that it seems to be going. It is definitely worth a listen.
That just seemed like some news worth sharing, however our post today is not about dubstep.
Robyn hit the North American music scene in 1995 with her debut record, Robyn Is Here. She garnerd some major fame with this release; the record spawned two top ten singles: Do You Know (What It Takes) and Show Me Love. The record was also certified Platinum, selling over 900k copies by mid 1997.
After the release of Robyn Is Here, Robyn released two more records in Sweden before we saw her return on this side of the pond in 2008.
Robyn's self titled fourth record, was released in the UK and Europe in 2005, and was then re-released with an updated track listing for the US and Canada in early 2008.
2010 has been a HUGE year for Robyn. She released two EPs and an LP as part of a project referred to as the Body Talk Series. Both Body Talk Pt.1 and Pt.2 contained eight tracks, while the final release of the project, an LP simply called Body Talk, contained five songs from the each of the first two releases as well as five new songs.
Robyn also performed at the MTV VMAs this year along side Canadian DJ, Deadmau5; and she has also been touring the US and Europe with R&B turned dance songstress, Kelis.
Today's post is the A-Trak remix of the first single from Body Talk, called Indestructible.
After hearing what A-Trak was able to do with the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Heads Will Roll, last year, you know this remix will be epic.
Enjoy it!

Welcome....the weekend!
Heyo,
So, how we all doin'? It's the end the of week, and the beginning of the weekend! Are we feeling alright? Good!
Anyone else feeling like Christmas is coming up a little too quickly? I guess that's what I get for putting off my shopping...I wait too long to start and by the time I do the shops are crazy and it takes FOREVER to get it done. I would like to say that I'll learn my lesson and do it earlier next year, but, if we're going to be honest, I probably won't.
Time for some new music...or rather, a remix of something from quite a while back. This one is for all the old ravers!
Originally released in 1996 on the FFRR record label, I'm Alive by Stretch & Vern was a bouncy house classic. The song took clubs by storm, hitting number two on the Billboard Charts.
It's been nearly fifteen years and it's time to dust off the record and give it another go, but not without some re-editing of course! The song is being re-released on a new EP from Ministry of Sound on Sunday (December 2nd) and also includes, on top of the 2010 Club Remix, remixes done by DJs including Thomas Gandey and Louis La Roche.
Enjoy this throw-back and the weekend that is upon us!

Through the ice and snow...
Hey All,
I'm sorry! It has been way too long since my last post! Things have been a bit ridiculous, you know, blizzards and such. Cars no longer work here; we've had to rely on dog sleds to get to work. Well...okay, maybe not, but it feels like it's coming. Honestly, it's only December 1st and there is so much snow on the ground!
So today's song...well I've got something chill, a bit of a departure from some of the other songs we've seen on the blog so far, but definitely worth the listen.
After short lived relationship with Capitol Records and a bit of hiatus, Faith Evans is back and has collaborated with one of rap's biggest hit makers, Snoop Dogg.
The song is called Way You Move. This track is a smooth roller, something you can chill to.
Enjoy!
